Photo Calendars

IMG_0357 Calendars as gifts? Yes! These aren’t your typical wall calendars and are totally custom designed!

Every year a group of my close friends and I get together to have a Christmas dinner. In the past we have done secret santas or a yankee swap, but this year we decided to do a wine swap. This entailed each person brining a bottle of wine and an appetizer type food that paired well with it, so fun and tasty! So you are saying to yourself, what does this have to do with calendars? Well, I am a sucker for tradition and thought that each of my friends should be able to unwrap something small at our celebration. Two of my friends were married this year and the others all attended the fabulous wedding of Steph and Chris in New Orleans. So for Farran, one of the brides, I picked some great shots from her wedding and put together a desk calendar that she can look at each day for the next year and remember how special it was. Steph, the other bride, had a photo booth at her wedding, so I thought it would be fun to make her a calendar that featured pictures that came from the booth for each month to remind her of all the funny faces that were made behind the curtain. Finally, I used pictures from our New Orleans trip to make calendars for the rest of my lovely ladies, Kara, Chrissy, Manda, and Lauren. When I was designing these I started to think of all the other ways these could used as gifts…one year anniversary (it is paper after all), brides maids gifts, shower or wedding favors, parent thank you gifts, include with thank you notes, send as holiday cards…so many reasons to give a custom photo calendar!

When should you send save the dates?

RedSoxSaveDateThis is a really a two fold question. First, does every couple need to send save the dates? The answer is no. This is a fairly new custom that brides and grooms have adopted. Sending out a save the date is a good idea if you are having a destination wedding or if you have a lot of guests who will be traveling to the wedding location.

Save the Date

Just like you, I am in the middle of planning my wedding!! So far it has been an extremely exciting time and my fiancĂ©, Justin, and I have nailed down our venue, caterer, and a photographer. The bride’s maids dresses and shoes are all purchased and my dress is on order! With the sixth month mark to the wedding approaching right after the holidays I have started to plan for our save the dates and am working with my life long friend and graphic designer, Amanda Fox.

Colleen and Mike

kiss This past weekend my family and I travelled to Pittsburgh, PA for my cousin Colleen's wedding. This was a very special wedding because she is the first of the cousins to get married! It was so great to see my whole family and we had a blast celebrating Colleen and Mike's special day.
