Mel and Josh

At the beginning of September I attended my cousin's wedding and was delighted to see how awesome her printed items looked. She and her hubby decided to something different, instead of the traditional escort card, so we provided her with a seating cart - it looked amazing in the frame she found. I loved the menus - we used hot pink paper and flooded it with black ink and used knockout letters so the paper color showed through. The pink looked like it was glowing, which was super fun. Check out some of the other details in the pictures below. Photos are courtesy of: Sky's the Limit.

Using gray as one of your wedding colors

Picking your wedding colors is a big decision since so many other things will be affected by this choice - your invitations, bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen socks, napkins, flowers...the list goes on. It always helps to have a good neutral as part of your color pallet. If you have all bold colors you may find that certain accessories are overwhelming such as lime green vests for your groomsmen. Here we have put together some fun color pallets that all incorporate a shade of gray to play as the neutral color. See if any of these inspire you.

Wedding Day Schedule

Day of scheduleWhen I was getting down to the final to do's on my wedding checklist I realized that I needed to come up with a day of schedule - at first this seemed like an easy task and I sat down with a pen and a piece of scrap paper thinking I could crank it out in a few minutes and cross one more thing off the list. Well, I was sadly mistaken. The day of schedule turned out to be far more complicated and took much longer than a few minutes to put together. I ended up creating a spreadsheet that had a column for each important person and vendor. This made tracking simultaneous activities much easier :) When I shared the spreadsheet with my bridesmaids I honestly thought they were going to think I was crazy, but they all let me know what a huge relief it was to know what everyone was supposed to be doing. My vendors loved it and the day could not have gone more smoothly! Everyone was so impressed by it that they said I should share it on my blog. So here it is! Feel free to download it here and customize to your liking - enjoy and good luck with your planning.

So the wedding is over...now what?

IMG_0639I don't know about you, but I went into wedding planning withdrawal shortly after the wedding festivities had ended. I didn't know what to do with all my free time - I was so used to spending hours looking at images on Pinterest, checking things off on my Knot checklist and crafting all the small details for the big day. I needed a fix and wasn't ready to let the memories of the day fade away so I went on a mission to Target and found a beautiful cloth covered banker box that happened to be in one of the wedding colors and decided to make a wedding memory box. I then wondered all over the house and picked up all things wedding related that were haphazardly strewn around asking to be lost in the shuffle - shower cards, a copy of our save the date and invitation, extra sparklers, favors from the shower and the wedding, welcome bags we gave out at the hotels, the wooden chair signs from the wedding dinner, dried flowers from my bouquet and the hub's boutonniere...the list keeps going. Once I had a nice big pile of things I carefully went through each item and placed it in the box stowing away a memory of the day. I have put the box in a safe place and can't wait to dig it out for our one year anniversary to reminisce about what a special day it was.

Kathryn and Justin

After a year of planning and preparing June 23, 2012 was a huge success! The blog has been incredibly neglected over the past few months due to the wedding, but I think you will enjoy this post and hopefully think it was worth the wait. Ned Jackson was our amazing photographer and all the photo credits go to him. Please check out his work on his blog - he is awesome!

Here are pictures of all the print related items that helped make the wedding a huge success. Amanda Fox did an outstanding job designing all of these pieces

STD
The save the dates were poster sized and mailed to guests in
craft paper tubes. The posters were rolled and tied with a piece
of jute and dried purple flowers.
